This image was taken by Nukul at Lampan Luang Temple in Thailand. In this image an older woman can be seen using the wall for support as she walks down the stairs of a temple. Nukul recalls going to such temples when she was younger, noting that mostly older people are in attendance at Temples, as opposed to younger children and teenagers. Nukul wonders why this is the case and she recognizes that the woman pictured seems so very tired, but that does not stop her from coming to pray. The woman is strong for this reason.
Nukul is Thai Karen and works with the program Daughters Rising in Thailand. She has one young son who often stays in her village while she works. Nukul loves photography and recently took an interest in photographing events.
“I want to have a good job. I want to work for my family to be happy. I want to travel everywhere and go many many countries, like Singapore and New York!! I want to take pictures of people smiling and beautiful scenery when I travel.” - Nukul
